FAQs
What's included in a Leger consultation?
As part of your video consultation, you'll get 45 minutes with a TRT doctor. One of our experts will review your results and discuss symptoms and your general health, including any possible complications and fertility plans. If TRT’s the right choice for you, they’ll issue a prescription to get started.
You can book a consultation as soon as you have two recent blood test results confirming low testosterone.
Does a consultation guarantee I'll be prescribed TRT?
A consultation doesn’t guarantee a TRT prescription.
One of our TRT doctors will assess your symptoms, medical history, and blood test results to determine if TRT is appropriate for you. If it’s not the right option, they’ll discuss other ways to support your health.
I only have one blood test result, what do I do?
If you’ve had just one low testosterone result, we’ll need to check that it’s not a one-off. The British Society of Sexual Medicine (BSSM) guidelines state that you need at least two low readings before starting TRT.
We can help arrange your second test and make sure it includes all the right markers to get you started. Get in touch.
How recent do my blood test results need to be?
Your blood tests should be recent enough to give an accurate picture of your current health. Generally, results within the last six months are ideal, but this can vary depending on your circumstances.
If you're unsure, contact us, and we can advise on whether you need another test.
I don't have any results yet, how do I book?
You’ll need at least two recent blood tests before booking a consultation.
That way, we can make sure that TRT is a suitable option for you and helps avoid unnecessary costs if your testosterone levels are normal.
You can check your testosterone level with our Testosterone Blood Test.
What counts as a ‘low’ testosterone result?
A low testosterone result is typically defined as:
- Total testosterone below 12 nmol/L
- Calculated free testosterone below 0.225 nmol/L
However, in some cases, a total testosterone level up to 15 nmol/L or calculated free testosterone up to 0.3 nmol/L may still be considered.
Having a low testosterone result alone doesn’t guarantee suitability for TRT. Our TRT specialists assess each case individually, considering symptoms, medical history, and other factors before making a clinical decision.
What are the cancellation terms?
You have 48 hours to cancel your consultation for a full refund. If you’d like to cancel after this time, you will be charged at full price.
